In the wake of Hurricane Helene, our Asheville community is leaning into its deep-rooted resilience and coming together to rebuild. Whether you’re nearby or far away, here are some ways you can lend a hand and help Asheville thrive again.

Donation Resources to Help Asheville Recover
These organizations are on the ground providing vital support to our community:
BeLoved Asheville - BeLoved works to uplift the local community, focusing on immediate needs such as housing, food, and other essential resources. They are providing emergency relief to families affected by the hurricane.
World Central Kitchen - Known for being first responders in disaster situations, World Central Kitchen is providing meals to those impacted in our area. Your donation helps bring nourishing meals to the community during this critical time.
Equal Plates Project - Equal Plates partners with local farms to bring nutritious meals to those facing food insecurity. Donations support their efforts to give free meals to regional residents affected by the hurricane.
ROAR (Rural Organizing and Resilience) - ROAR’s mission is to restore and rebuild communities in the Appalachian region. They are based in Marshall, offering emergency support and resources to help residents recover from Hurricane Helene’s impact.
MANNA FoodBank - MANNA has long been a staple in Asheville, providing food to families across Western North Carolina. Donations enable them to continue their mission, especially during times of heightened need like this.
Tips for Visiting Asheville Post-Hurricane
If you’re planning a trip to Asheville soon, here’s how you can enjoy your visit while respecting the region's recovery efforts:
Check Trail and Park Openings - Some natural areas are still under restoration. Check the status of popular sites like Pisgah National Forest and Mountains to Sea Trail to ensure safe and open access.
Plan Ahead for Possible Road Closures - Mountain roads and scenic drives may still be impacted by storm damage. Be sure to map out alternative routes to enjoy your journey while staying safe.
Support Local Businesses with Patience - Many local shops, restaurants, and service providers are working hard to welcome you back. If some are operating with limited hours or capacity, a little patience goes a long way.
Explore Volunteer Opportunities - Several Asheville organizations welcome visitors who wish to help in small ways. Reach out to Volunteer Asheville or other local groups to find volunteer opportunities in the area.
Stay at Local Hotels and Resorts - Choosing locally-owned accommodations (like ours when we reopen in early 2025!) contributes to the area’s economic resilience, helping local jobs and community efforts. Plus, you'll experience the best of Asheville hospitality.

Supporting Asheville’s Local Businesses from Afar
If you’re unable to make the trip just yet, there are still ways to help support Asheville from wherever you are:
Shop Asheville Artisans Online - Many local artists, makers, and shops sell their goods online, from jewelry and pottery to candles and handmade goods. Your purchase directly supports local talent.
Purchase Restaurant Gift Cards - Many of Asheville’s favorite eateries and coffee shops offer gift cards online. A great way to support the culinary scene now, or treat yourself on a future visit!
Join Virtual Events from Asheville’s Arts Scene - Asheville’s vibrant arts and music community has gone virtual, with concerts, art workshops, and events available online. Buy a ticket, enjoy the art, and support local talent.
Order Asheville Coffee, Craft Beer, or Wine for Delivery - Asheville’s brewers, roasters, and winemakers are delivering locally crafted beverages to select areas. Taste Asheville at home while supporting local businesses.
Donate to the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway - This organization helps maintain one of our most beloved local treasures, which has been shut down for the time being in North Carolina. Contributions help keep the Parkway pristine and accessible to all.
Thank you for considering ways to support Asheville in this time of rebuilding. Your generosity and care are deeply appreciated, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to our beautiful property at Shope Creek soon!
